However, I'm also reading A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, a chick-lit book that most probably haven't heard of, and War of the Worlds.

Normally I hate reading more than one thing at once, but right now I have so many books I want to read, and limiting myself to just one doesn't sound very appealing.

God help you. I despised Grapes of Wrath. Granted, this is almost certainly due to the fact that I started and finished it the day before the test, but I still have lasting memories of displeasure...

Anyway, as to what I am reading... err... assorted textbooks. I need to find some time to read again for myself. I fully intend to pick up Johnathan Strange and Mr. Norrell now that it is in paperback and discounted at the university bookstore, because it looks interesting.
